Founder's Hall
(Kaisantô)

Kôhô Kennichi    Mugaku Sogen    Musô Soseki    Shunoku Myôha    Garden

The Founder's Hall (Kaisantô) is being restored in honor of the 650th anniversary of the death of founder Musô Soseki (known as Musô Kokushi, 1275-1351) in the autumn of 2002. In the center altar is the grave of Musô himself, while the west altar is graced with statues of Bukkô Kokushi Bukkoku Kokushi, Fumyô Kokushi and Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. On the east altar are memorial tablets and statues of members of the nobility associated with the temple.
